Major Merfyn Thomas will talk on the history of 'The Great Orme Coastal Artillery School', which between September 1940-1944 trained some 15,500 personnel.

In 1940 the artillery school was moved from Shoeburyness in Essex to land owned by the Mostyn Estate on the Great Orme.  By August the site had been pegged out and the first course run in September, with 15,500 personnel being trained at the school between 1940 and 1944.

Arrive for morning coffee at 11am to hear Major Merfyn Thomas' talk on 'The Great Orme Coastal Artillery School'.  The talk will be followed by a two-course lunch designed  by Head Chef John Williams, accompanied by a glass of wine and with coffee or tea and Bodysgallen fudge to finish.
